All of the Children of the Moon can fly, except Pinteon. He longs to soar in the sky like the other kids. Encouraged by Memory, a wise and magical bird, Pinteon enters the forest on a quest to make his dream come true. Along the way, he meets creatures that aim to hinder his progress (Mr. Stigglyoptikus and Slimy Sam), as well as creatures that try to help him (The Ladymelions, The Odd Ducks, and Baia). Along his journey, Pinteon experiences frustration, loss of faith, redemption, and the discovery of true community and unconditional love. By the time the moon reaches the highest point in the sky and the creatures of the forest perform their annual Moondance, Pinteon and his new family band together in all their unconventional glory and fly!
